ANIMATION DESCRIPTION:

A secret agent breaks UN protocol and does his own inspection for weapons of
mass destruction at the Iridium Technetide Corporation, lair of the Green
Meanie. He is discovered by robots and so decides to flee--very quickly. The
anim was 6016 KB on my computer.

VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS:

Suspend disbelief

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED:

The tie-in to "speed" for this anim is that I implemented a motion blur
technique, which is visible in the Mime Man character at seconds 28-30. I
simply averaged together 15 frames of mime man's motion for every frame in the
scene that uses motion blur. The camera and robots are then on a modulated
clock (#declare clockforRest=int(frame_number/15)/final_frame*15;) The
technique is simple: I used povray with an "averaged" pigment on a box.

I spent most of my time in this contest period remodelling my character's head.
The "Cambot" robot uses IIRC the exact same bone points and walk cycle for the
legs as the Mime Man character-- you may either dock or add technical merit
points for this. The "Ankylbots" are based on a three-legged spider algorithm
I just dreamed up recently. The woman is based on the blob files included in
N.A's "Phenomenon X" IRTC entry and (last round at least) is used with
permission.

I don't have an up-to-date web page for my current animations, but if you're
interested in verifying the timeliness of these ideas I suppose you could do a
search for my animations which I've been posting at news.povray.org.
