IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

In the past, the region you see was green.
But fire transformed it in a desert. Only a few burned trees are left.
Fortunately, an absent-minded wizard choose this place to lose his
life-sceptre.
This sceptre has the power to give back life. Its influence makes itself felt in
a sphere
of increasing radius.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The ground is a height_field. The image used for this height_field was made
using Terrain Maker. The texture is a crackle pattern.
The trees were made with a self-made tree generator. It would take too much
space to explain
how it works here but I included the source code in the zip file.
The half-living half-dead tree is made of the same tree once with a burned
texture, once with
a brown texture and leaves. I displayed a part of each entire tree by using once
difference and
once intersection of the tree and a sphere centered at the life-sceptre.
