IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Going with the earth, water, wind, and fire defination of the elements. I
ended up with the obvious earth and fire playing the part of earth and fire.
The
wind ( small ) can be seen fanning the flames and pushing the smoke away from
the
camera. A bucket ( despiration move ) filled with water is waiting in case the
fire
gets out of hand.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

I actually didn't think I would have anything to submit this time. I spent way
to much
time playing with the macro thing. The fern bushes up front is a macro which
accept another
macro( that also has another macro parameter ) as a parameter. The inside macro
builds a fern triangle mesh from the SPLEENWORT fern formula devolped for the
Physics. The middle
macro gives the fern piece a random rotation in X,Y, and Z, The outside macro
place it in the group.

The campfire stones are a CSG placed with the Make_Many macro.
The fire itself was fun. It ended
up being the Halo/media unioned with a RedOrange
lightsource. The union was set so that the light source was below the level of
the stones
to try to get some of the shadows right.

The Pine forest is built and placed by more macros

The tent is a CSG with a semitransparent texture. Inside is a
sphere/Yellowishlight source union
to look like a coleman lantern ( more fire )

The remainder of the light is provided by the Moon. This is sphere/Silverlight
source
The normal and transparency of the sphere was adjusted for the desired light
level.

The background is a skysphere with a starfield texture.

This was rendered with the final radiosity settings.

On light levels, This is supposed to be a dark picture. The near pinetrees
should be almost
black with silver reflected from the moon. Shadows of the campfire stones should
barely visible around the fire
