IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

                              All my Love

A idealistic image of an engagement ring. The image has 3 elements in
it. Diamond (Carbon), Gold (the ring), and the tines connecting the
diamond to the ring are made of platinum (common practice for strength).

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The ring was created entirely within Moray.

The diamond is CSG: a cone with geometric cuts made in it at 45 degrees
and 60 degrees. Moray's "duplicate" feature was very useful. I was
able to make one cut, then rotate that around the cone to make 7 other
similar cuts. Then this was done again to do the other angled cuts.

The textures were all basic, taken from the standard POV textures, I did
modify the "Shiny_Orb" color of the diamond to be more white and less
blue. Simple gold and silver were used for the ring and tines.

The lettering was a bit tricky. First, I created a single letter and
re-centered it via wrapping it in a CSG by itself (which POV complains
about), then I once again used Moray's duplicate feature to embed the
letters in the ring in a uniform manner. I changed the letters to say
something inane, then made a CSG difference of it (cut the letters out
of the ring).

The lens flare was achieved via Chris Colefax's lens effects include files.
I used the "star" effect and reduced the intensity to .5 .
