IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The greek philosopher Empedokles said, that everything is made out
of four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Based on this
statement I made a scene, showing the temple of the four elements.
It is fictionary, but maybe it existed really...

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The scene shows the temple in front of a bay. The landscape in the
background is made with Terrain Maker. The two rocks in front are
made with Blob Sculptor. Paint Shop Pro was used to refine the
image maps a little, to sign in my name in the corner and to
convert the image to JPEG.
The four elements are standing in front of a temple. Every element is
inside a glass sphere. The sphere at the back is filled with air. As
air is transparent, I used some clouds to represent the air.
The left sphere contains water. The right sphere contains fire. It is
made with a halo. The sphere nearest to the viewer contains earth.
To make this sphere more interesting, I put some plants into
the earth.
