IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Initially I wanted to make the ducks look like they
were made out of water, born from the water and taking off from their
mother element. I'm not sure this is obvious in the final picture, as
my first water ducks were not that realistic; I had to add some color
in their texture in order to make the image feel "happier".

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
    water made with a procedural
texture thanks to 4Elements; color of the water due to a dark reflected
background; ducks from a model from the RayDream CD (easy... I know. But
I tend to consider composition before modelling); the texture of the ducks
is 95% transparent, 20% refractive, with a color both in the transparency
channel and in the color channel (not the same, hint !). Glass/water is
VERY hard to attain in RayDream, probably due to the raytracer that is
less good for this than POV. Basically I had to trick with lots of light
sources to obtain the desired reflections and highlights. Reflected objects
or backgrounds are key elements for realitic glass/water.
