IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

This is the first and only existing picture of the fabled Longhorn
Cosol. It was taken by a tourist in the swamps of Maacoon9.
This shy and secretive animal has only be seen by a handfull of person
in the last 50 years, and many scientists didn't believe it existed.
These doubts should now be cleared, as the picture has been declared as
genuine yesterday by a commission of experts.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

It's quite a complex scene, so I'll just write some tidbits:

        - The swamp is a plane I deformed slightly using the magnet function.
I then used the Cinehaar Plugin to create the vegetation. The water is
a ground object. Actually, the 'world' really stops where the Cosol
stands.

        - The Plants : the inner parts were done in Organica, the exterior with

the filaments is a rotation object on which a genlock texture is
applied.

        - The animals were all done in Organica (except for the shell of the
snail
and of course Bony's hair, which were both created in C4D)
Bony, the Cosol and the birds have bones and can be animated.

        - Bony is the same model I used in my First Encounter Entry.

        - The idea to put the urinating Bony in the picture was not entirely my
idea.
I suggested it to my girlfriend jokingly while searching a way to finish
the
entry, and she said she thought it was funny and wanted it in. So :
don't
        blame me! ;)

        - The planet in the background was rendered separately and mapped
frontaly
on the cloud plane. I first tried to map it on a different, higher
plane, but it
never came right due to the environmental fog.

        - The cloud texture was rendered using Corel Textures.

        - The yellow sign, which, sadly, is too blurred in 800x600, was rendered
in
C4D. It shows exactly the same Bony, without hairs, doing exactly the
same.

        - I added my logo afterward in the corner with Corel Photopaint. (I
tried
to render it, but couldn't get the same effect :\

        - Rendering time difference between 1152x864 and 800x600 is less than 3

        minutes.

        - This is probably the most complex picture I have done so far. It is
80Mb
big (without the textures) and consists of 880 single objects (The grass
and
the hairs count as one object each).

        - The rendering was done with Anti-Alias 4x4 on edges and colours,
hard and soft shadows, refraction and reflections on, object motion blur

        (for the insects wings).

Enjoy,
Sammy
