IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

After a while of scetching and brainstorming I finally decided to keep it
simple, imho the simplicity brings a feeling of tranquility to the scene.
I've been thinking of creating a lighthouse for some time so I took this
oppertunity to finally do it.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The lighthouse itself is just made out of primitives with a gradient texture
on the large cone and a black one on the rest. I got some ideas from pictures
of various American lighthouses of which there are pics on the net.

I created the "island" with an old version of terrain maker and later modified
it some with paint shop pro.

The sky is two gradient textures, the stars are one and the sky another. The
blue-orange gradient was smooth when I rendered it, but the conversion to jpeg
ruined it a bit, but it's not too bad.

The beam coming from the lighthouse is my first real attempt to do anything
with the media function, it's a cylindrical intensity map with lotsa
turbulence.

The clouds in the sky are just red clouds which have been scaled alot to the
sides.
