IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I wanted to create a nice and realistic landscape,
only using pure Povray source.
It had to be some more than just a heightfield,
water and sky (although many beautiful examples
have been made).

Step by step I struggled forewards, this time
helped by the Internet where I started to search
and stumbled upon useful tools and includes (you
find out someone already solved just the problem
you are faced with !).
At last I had more or less the result I wanted.

You could say it is just a landscape, but for me
(considering the time-consuming struggle) it is
in a sense a true landmark.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

There is one 'universal' light-source, four light-
sources to simulate the sunlight, ground-fog, the
sky based upon an already existing one.

The two small clouds around the mountain plus the
one in front of the sun are halos (Povray 3.0 !).

The pool is a plane with a texture found in Moray.

The sun and camera-position were created using the
Lens effects include file by Chris Colefax.

Three different height-fields are used (the hill on
the foreground, the mountains at medium distance and
the ones further away).
All generated using HF-Lab by John Beale and given
an image-map as a texture.

The tree in the foreground, near the pool and the
other two further away are based upon an include file
used in a scenery-file (author unknown by me).
I made a modification so that every leaf has a random
color within certain ranges for each tree, what made
them much more realistic (one is more touched by the
autumn then another).

The two small bushes on the foreground were created
using the Trees include file by Sonya Roberts and the
butterflys above it were created using the Butterfly
include file by Peter Engels.

The rest of the vegetation was placed upon the right
positions on the heightfield by means of the Genesis
Toolkit by Joerg Schrammel.
The vegetation used are from the Vegetation package
include file; the pines in the back and the small
bushes near the pool. The rest of the grasses I
invented myself.

The zipfile only contains the scenery-file and most of
the include-files (together with all the used image-
files would take up 10 MB).
