IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The california landscape is littered with the water temples of the hetch hetchy
aquaduct. The Pulgas temple is the terminus. Before the freeway was completed,
The road past it was crowded every weekend with travellers to the beach. Now, I
doubt most people driving 280 know it exists.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Once again, inspiration strikes too late to complete the image. If one looks
closely at the columns, the fluting is geometry, not bump mapped: this took
some fiddling with illustrator to get the outlines right. If I had mapped it
(since they are nearly invisible at 800x600) i might have had time to put in
the mountain in the background, and the surrounding trees. and a decent bump in
the reflecting pool, which should be flush with the ground.

The texture and bump of the temple was taken from a photograph of the temple
itself.
