IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

A desert with strangly shaped rocks in which, according to the natives, reside
the ghosts of dead warriors...

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The picture is basically very simple. It is deliberately rather dark and is best
viewed in a dark room. As far as I can tell my monitor has a gamma of around
1.8. The rocks should just have a slight glow in the darkness.

The sky is media and the rock pillars are isosurfaces - HFs mapped onto spheres.
The rocks on the ground are of three types modelled in Amorphium. The mounds
were modeled in Leveller and exported along with heightfield point data, which
was used to place the rocks. The mounds have the only complex texture in the
image.

Lots of fill in lights were used and I wish I had the time to fiddle with them a
bit more. Finally the image was rendered with radiosity another thing I would
of liked to experiment with.

The Eagle was going to be modelled in hammapatch but I ran out of time, so it's
a Zygote model posed in Poser.
