IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I was having a hard time figuring out what I would do for this topic,
particularly since this would be my first entry. One day, on the way
out the door to lunch, I spotted this fern growing out of some decayed
pine needles on the steps of the building. That's what I tried to
duplicate: the contrast of what we make for ourselves versus what Nature
makes for herself.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The leaves were created in sPatch in about 20 minutes, the bricks and pine
needles were all created inside Moray using the 'Copy Object' routine, as
was the composite fern. Overall creation took about two or three hours,
followed by countless hours of tweaking textures and composition :-).
