IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
A small boy stands among giant trees in the morning mist. I
played with various ideas for this round, most of them revolving around the
notion of contrasts of size, before finally (and rather late in the day)
settling on this one.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
The ground is a hf created in
leveller, the near trees are patches created in sPatch, the further trees are
simple cylinders. The boy was modelled and exported from Poser via 3dWin. The
trees and boy are positioned with a trace macro. The media is a simple
absorption/emission mix with an agate density.

I'm not entirely happy with this scene - I wasted a lot of time working on
scattering media, and eventually had to give up due to the excessive rendering
time. In retrospect, the time could have been better spent looking into
isosurfaces for the trees and general textures. Oh well.
