rendered in 2 parts the image in the window took about 8 hours,

IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
I realize that this image is more than a little abstract, so
I'll offer an explanation. The more obvious part is that there is a person on a
spaceship staring at a cross, lamenting over a lost loved one. Moving further
into the way I intended it, and away from what it appears to be; this person is
on a pilgrimage to a futuristic cathedral. The cathedral is based on the idea
of a dison sphere (a structure built around a sun) utilizing gothic
arcitechture such as pointed arches and stained glass.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
The image of the dison cathedral was
made first. The structure is pretty straightforward. The sun and beams coming
off the stained glass windows were created using particles. Spotlights with
textures added were used to make the image of the stained glass cast onto the
outer structure. For time purposes, I rendered this separately and set it as a
window texture on the window in the outer scene. I made the person's head using
a mesh from the Blender website (www.Blender.nl)(mesh made by Sam B:
dirtysound@wanadoo.fr). The cross was made out of regular meshes and some
particles. All textures in both scenes are home-made using corel photoshop.
After rendering, I added my name in GIMP.
