DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
I struggled to come up with an image
for this round; I guessed there would be any number of architecturally exact
cathedrals, maybe some crucifixes and I toyed with the idea of rendering a pair
of praying hands exported out of Poser but couldn't get anything like a
satisfactory result. I had practically given up for this round and instead
downloaded a copy of MegaPOV with the intention of playing around with photons.
To this end I knocked up a pleasing wine glass shape in Moray using three
rotational sweeps and set about trying to generate some nice caustics - still
working on that one!

Anyhow, it struck me that I might enter the round after all. This could be that
most worshiped icon in all of Christendom - The Holy Grail! I figured that any
thing 2000 years old couldn't possibly be glass and last intact for so long so
I converted it to metal - suitably dull and aged with time.(Bright, shiny gold
just didn't look right either!)

The setting leaves something to be desired for such a treasured object, I know.
The back wall is an image map of an evening sky I found on my hard drive! -
with it being out of focus it kind of has the feel of old plaster. The floor
consists of a number of translational sweeps - I generated far too many and the
resulting file became too unmanageable to post with my entry. Add a spotlight
to illuminate the chalice and that's about it!
