DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

(it was planned as a still, but i decided to extend it to an animation.)
live action was shot on the sony TRV 8, captured on Final Cut Pro and exported
as a series of targas.
the man is modelled in Nurbs with full c1 continuity, based on a public domain
source model. (i 'lightened' the model considerably, geometrically as well as
aesthetically-he was a bit he-man)
inverse kinematic skeleton setup, using rotate plane solvers for more control
over the angle of the arms and legs
the dollar sign is also modelled in nurbs, using Algerian D as the font.
Used a spot light and a few point lights, volumetric light effects
matchmoved with the background by hand.
the loincloth had softbodies and wind dynamics applied.

it was rendered in 2 passes, one for the model and one for the glow. Used
scanline rendering, no raytracing was used.

the 2 3d layers and live action layer were brought into maya fusion, where the
daytime live action was turned into night and the 3d composited in, film grain
added and various colour corrections, depth of field was also added in 2d.
