IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Night is falling over a large, shallow sea seperating two countries who have
fought several wars. One side has created a network of radar sites (a sea based
DEW line) to give advanced warning of an impending attack. Over the years, the
sites have been upgraded and armed. Barbed wire around the perimiter of the
base and between posts planted out in the water now keep small boats and
commandos away. Several twin multi-barreled gatling gun positions provide
anti-air cover. The three 32-cell rocket launchers are to keep away small boats
and aircraft while the two twin cannon mounts are for long range action. The
main search radar is supported by two weapons radar units. In addition, last
week a command post trailer was airlifted onto the base to support a covert
mission.
The base has also just been resupplied and a number of boxes and barrels still
need to be opened and their contents stored inside of the base. The crew has
settled in for the night and will finish unpacking tomorrow.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

All of the objects were created in Rhino and exported as udo files. This was
done more for practice using Rhino than anything else. Moray was used to
assemble all of the objects and to do the initial texture aplication and to
determine camera angles. The heightfield image for the water was created with
Corel. The final rendering was done using Megapov v0.7 at a 1280x1024
resolution. Photo Editor was then used to convert the image to jpg format and
to resize the image to fit the 250 kb maximum image size.
Note that the inc file for the barbed wire is not included in the zip file. This
is a very large file (over 500 kb zipped). If anyone wants it I can email it to
them.

This is my first serious attemp at a POVRAY scene, so any and all comments and
constructive critisism will be greatly appreciated.
