IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Inspired by an old Dragon Lance Module (DL4 - Dragons of Desolation) this image
depicts a great floating keep. It is still a mystry how this massive relic
stays afloat. Some say it is a reverse gravity field others say it is kept
floating by the life force of a powerful mage. In either case all attempts to
fly to the keep have met with falure and sometimes even death. Twin arches (one
on the ground and the other on the keep.) seem to be the only connector to the
floating structure. If they were a teleporter they havn't worked in centuries.
Perhaps a mystry as great as the keep itself is the strange colored lights that
are seen flying to and fro from the keep. Some say they are living creatures or
others just a strange phenomenea from the magics of the keep who knows maybee
they are the builders. Many wonder what secrets are locked up in the ancient
bricks.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Both the land and the floating island were made with heightfields. The buildings
were all CSG. Textures for the bricks and the roof were found on the net and
image mapped on. The water is a plane with a slight crackle pigment. The clouds
are a giant box with a bozo pigment. The star background is a sky sphere. The
arches were made with Chris Colefax's Arch Macro, The Trees were made with a
tree macro created by Paul Dawson. The colored lights were made with Chris
Colefax's Lens Flare Macro. All files to render the image are included in the
zip file except the Arch, Tree and Lensflare Macros. If you would like these
extra files email me and I can send them to you.
