IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
The picture depicts Arthur, the squirrel, at the very moment
when he draws the sword out of the roc for the first time.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Truly sorry of the low quality of posing, because I went very quickly to
throw in this scene all the characters and objects. In fact, all the characters
are basic clones of each other. I did some basic low level alteration of their
shapes, clothes and equipment to make them unique. By the magic of the SubSurf
curves, the result is quite better than I hoped.
Technically, everything has been modelled within Blender (except for the
face which is a low-poly model I found on the Net, that I refined and
enhanced), everything is textured with basic plugins or images, and some
objects have been UV-painted.
The volumetric light is made with a Ico-Sphere whose some faces have been
deleted randomly, and through which a halo-spot casting shadows lights the
scene.
The distance fog used to blurr the trees in the background relies on the
Mist button of the World buttons.
All bright sparkles are sets of vertice with halo material set on.
Surface of the water plane is blurred by a wave effect with center set at
Arthur's feet. A simple trick.
All herb is made with static particles. There is now a python script that
automatically generate herbs and grass, but I haven't tried it yet.
Fortunately, making grass with particle systes is not such a pain.
In fact, this scene is alost unfinished. Too bad I hadn't more time to do
better work. Hope you'll enjoy anyway!
     Best Regards,
Olivier
