IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The ewer is a ceremonial vessel often used in Tibetan Monasteries.
This one is an adaptation of one made of silver and gilded in bronze.
The teacups are trimmed with silver.
Ewers are used to serve a beverage made of Chinese black tea and yak
butter. The tea is a staple of the diet in the Himalayas.
This scene is a still life of an important part of Tibetan and Nepali
culture. The wall hanging, called a Thanka, is an example of the
artwork of the region.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Everything is basic CSG. The cups and ewer are lathe objects and
toroids. The spout and handle and vapor are bezier patches. The
jewels and decorations are cloned and rotated objects. The table
and mat are basic boxes and cylinders.
The wall hanging is a height map, but the image on it an example
of Nepali artwork taken from the web. The carpet is a pattern
modified and mapped onto a bumpy plane.
