spires in the sea of night

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

 http://www.sai.msu.su/apod/archivepix.html
That is the archive of Astronomy Picture Of the Day. APOD.
It is where I obtained the public domain photo of the Cat's
Eye nebula, that was used as an image map. That image map was applied to a hight
field using Moray as both modler and material editor. A second hight field was
used to add the water, and it's texture is purely graghicly origined from the
moray material editor.
Lighting is offset to the upper right and away from the camera, and is all
white. Since the lighting is all white, all the color in the spires originated
with the original photo obtained from apod, though a small amout of noise was
added to it,in the material editor. Kinda neat huh.
The "S" near the top of the central spire is both incidental and accidental. It
is an artifact of how Moray projected the image as a hight field, and happens
to be my first initial. I like it, but then, I would. At any rate, it was a
coincidence unplaned for.
