DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

The spheres in this scene have very basic geometry with high resolution image
maps. Textures include grates, cement, exposed pipes, glass blocks, a roll-up
door, a fire hydrant valve, and various architectural elements, to name but a
few. Initially the scene used textures I had downloaded from the Internet,
however, I soon started to bring my digital camera along with on the way to
work, and would often stop to take pictures of interesting items I found along
the way. Many of these pictures found there way into this scene.

The stick figure was inspired by the "stick figure" model in Poser.   Modeled
from scratch, I wanted it to look a bit more skeletal than stick-ish. He has a
rusty metal procedural texture.

The background clouds where rendered using the Pyrocluster plugin. Due to memory
and speed constraints, I rendered the clouds and smallest two spheres
separately and used the resultant image as a background to the rest of the
scene.
