IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

How a building full of people is perceived during a waking moment of
extreme dislocation and impulse towards random acts of violence.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Anyone who has seen some of my other images knows that I prefer to create
very technical pictures. This image is no exception. Over 1000 lines of
code were needed to create this. Not the multi-meg file of my last entry,
but somewhat complex nonetheless. I stared by calculating the silhouette
of an imagined building based on my height, the size of the building, and
a selected view point. I then sketched the silhouette and separated the
shape by portioning the spaces into areas which represented a very basic,
feral idea of a building full of people, with lines both reflecting the
shape of the building as well as suggesting the structure and interior.

Then came the more difficult part. I did not want to guess or approximate
the positions of my divisions, so I devised a set of logical steps which
Povray could follow in order to see the image the same way that I had and
divide the space as I had on the paper, only this time without the human
weaknesses of inaccurate measurement or my poor sketching skills.

The black lines are shadows produced by no_image objects in a light group
with the mesh silhouette. The red lines are cylinders with no light
and >0 gamma.
