IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Museum where fire is being presented... sounds a bit absurd. I've got an idea
for this
image from a comic book and thought that that would be nice to do myself. The
joke in
this picture is that an ordinary campfire has not changed since 100 000 bc..
There are
two fires beeing presented in glass cabinets from different time periods.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

I try to explain something of how I made this picture. This is actually one of
my first
bigger works. I have previously made only some simple scenes. Nothing with this
many
objects.

Firewoods are just simple cylinders. I just used Blenders own wood texture on
them and
made it to affect the shape of the woods a little bit.

The fire itself is a particle effect which I was actually just learning to do.
There
are some sparks also in the fire.

The glass cabinets are simple cubes with a transparency effect and a bit of
reflection.
The base color of glass is green which I think real glass is also. There is
nothing
special in the mounting. The signs are plane meshes with photoshop-made pictures
as a
texture. The pedestal is a bit bigger than the glass cabinets. It would have
looked
strange if the pedestal and cabinet would have been exact match.

The floor is a plane with some marble and noise texture. There is also a bit of
reflectivity. I made it also to ripple a little to make it look like real floor
(which
hardly ever is absolutely sleek and shiny). Though you can't really see my
little
tweakings in the picture.

There are 15 spotlights and 15 regular lamps in the picture to make the
realistic looking
lighting effect.

The batten is a simple cuboid with a wood texture.

The wall has a little noise to affect its shape to make it appear more rough.

Fire extinguishers are duplicates. The red part has some specularity and mirror
effect
and the meter has an image as a texture. The extinguishers are actually the most
complex
parts of this image, having more vertices than other objects.

The pictures at the wall are renderings of flames I made just for this pic. The
frames
are also just cuboids with a darker wood texture.
