IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

This is an image of the Earth Simulator computer with a scientist holding her
PDA. Normally, I don't think people using the supercomputer actually do so
within the area that it is physically located. Actually this person became
separated from her tour group and is now consulting her PDA. But then who
really knows what women are thinking or doing anyway? (I'm sure my GF will slap
me silly for saying that).

Anyway, the world of computers is a good example of nearly polar opposites: huge
supercomputers that fill up an entire room vs. small embedded computers that
fit in the palm of your hand.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Boxes and more boxes, and maybe a cylinder or two. You know I'm still quite
amazed by the scripting capabilities of the povray SDL.
