IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

If you have never seen this it's called Tractor Pulling, and it's a wonderful
sport. Technically it's not about speed but about distance. The competition is
to pull a specially designed sled furthest, not fastest, along a 100m dirt
track. The sled gets progressively harder to pull until, usually, the tractor
bogs down.

But it's fast too - and thrilling. When "super-modified" class tractors compete
they unleash massive power, far more than in any other motor sport, and things
start happening pretty quickly. Several tons of tractor and sled hurtling down
the course is a fantastic sight.

A 'Full Pull' is if a tractor actually completes the 100m run. This is my
attempt to capture the excitement of this very powerful motor sport.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The tractor is nearly all CSG. There's some height fields on the engine block
and blob object in the exhaust manifold. I used f_helix1 for the screw-top on
the petrol tank.

The flags on the sled are thin f_rounded_box with noise. I used a bump map to
crinkle up the corners. The blade on the front of the sled is also noisy
f_rounded_box to give it a battered look.

The track is a height field.

I used MegaPOV to get motion blur for the wheels and scenery.

The dust around the back wheels and the smoke/fire from the exhaust are media.

Driver and spectators are created in Poser and imported via PoseRay, the figures
are not included in the attached code.
