IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

This image is based upon an urban myth telling of a man who attached a surplus
Jet Assissted Take Off unit (hence the name JATO) to his car. Activating the
solid-state military rocket, the car cruisied along for some 30 seconds at
250-300 mph before it met the face of a cliff and vaporized. This image is of
the car moments after becoming airborne and moments before crashing into the
side of the cliff.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Manually fabricated the JATO unit in Rhino and attached it to a stock VW bug
that was shortened to look slightly comical. Created the cliffs in Bryce using
the regular terrain generator, then enlarged them by several magnitudes.
Created the afterburn in Rhino and gave it semi-transperent textures. Then
created a few ellipsoids with transperent dusty textures for the dust trail.
